SeaPort-e Service Quality Assurance

Standard Calibrations, Inc. has been organized to satisfy the needs of the customer and regulatory authorities and to exceed the requirements of the international standards ISO 17025:2005(E) and ISO 9001:2008.

Standard Calibrations, Inc. is composed of the following departments:

  • Executive Department

  • Quality Department

  • Metrology Department

  • Operations Department

  • Marine Service Department

  • Sales Department

Standard Calibrations Inc. developed a formal Quality Management System (QMS) to help our organization operate with increased effectiveness, consistency, and customer satisfaction.  The variety of tasks performed has created the need to develop an accredited QMS based on ISO 17025 and ANSI/NCSL /Z540-3 for SCI’s Calibration and Testing Activities along with an additional Quality Management System based on ISO 9001:2008 for all other work.  Where practical, both systems share Quality Procedures.  Examples are Management Review and Purchasing.

Our QMS is that part of our overall management system, which implements our quality policy, establishes processes for providing products and services that meet or exceed customer requirements, and satisfies ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 17025 quality system requirements as well those required by our customers, and a number of product/service realization processes unique to our business and operations.  Responsibilities for the sequence and interaction of all of our QMS processes are detailed in Quality Procedures (QP), Department Work Instructions (WI), and Process Control Procedures (PCP) as appropriate.  Standard Calibrations Inc. provides and maintains a quality assurance program that ensures that the product and service meets contract requirements and is acceptable to the Customer and Government, as applicable.  Additionally, U.S. Navy, Department of Defense, Department of Transportation, Department of Energy, and American Bureau of Shipbuilding standards and specifications provide guidance and performance standards.

A corporate QA Director, assigned the authority and responsibility for implementation of the Quality Management System, periodically updates our process controls and work procedures to reflect state-of-the art, optimum practices.  QA Managers and Quality Control Inspectors report directly to the QA Director to ensure quality compliance by Standard Calibrations Inc. and all subcontractors.
