SHIPBOARD LIAISON / FLEET REPRESENTATIVE/Job # S061
The Shipboard Liaison serves as the liaison between SCI and the Ships
work force. This includes representing various departments including
Product Sales, Product Engineering, Field Service, and Metrology Services.
Your responsibility will be to identify, negotiate and manage relationships
with partners whose objectives and product/service offerings complement
SCI’s short and long-term vision. We expect this focus to be mostly,
but not necessarily exclusively, on the US Navy/Coast Guard Maritime
market.
The Business Liaison will strategize to identify, prioritize and
pursue new and existing opportunities with partners focused on maritime
market. The role requires an ability to quickly understand new technologies
and business models and be able to evaluate their relevance to SCI’s
product and service offerings. Likewise, the Business Liaison will
be expected to generate original ideas and initiatives that capitalize
on the strengths of existing and prospective partners to drive substantive,
additional benefits to SCI. A successful person will have the opportunity
to enjoy a very visible position within SCI and interact closely with
many different ships crew.
Responsiblities
- Managing day-to-day relationships with ships force and shipyard
superintendents.
- Negotiating and providing logistic support for ships instrumentation
needs.
- Working with Product Engineering, Marketing, Sales and other departments
to understand their strategic priorities and creatively identify
partnership opportunities to support those priorities.
- Helping to develop business plans and models.
- Establishing metrics to analyze and track performance of partner
initiatives.
Qualifications
- Ability to succeed in a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization,
as both a team player and an individual contributor.
- Willingness to champion innovation and challenge the status quo
in order to drive significant increases in high-margin, recurring
revenue.
- At least 10+ years of strategic alliance or direct employment
within the maritime market.
- Hands on experience with ships instrumentation and or control
products.
- Capacity to understand the big picture while maintaining a penchant
for detail.
- Associates degree in a technical trade, or technical engineering.
10+ years equivalent work experience highly considered. Examples
include: USNS, USCG, SESS, NAVSEA, Ship Yard, MSC.
- Must have or be eligible for security clearance.
- Ability to climb ladders on board ships and carry 25lbs.
- Travel 5%
