Planner & Estimator /Job # M5-19A


  • Will report directly to Executive management.Will work in a team environment to assist marine production control and contracting. Ability to supervise small groups for specific tasks associated with estimating and proposal development. Perform technical review with proposal managers and production managers. Will estimate RFQÕs, change orders, and proposals of various sizes and complexities.Candidate must be an organized, self-starter with a willingnessand ability to work in a team environment. Position is full time with potential for overtime.
  • Specific tasks:

    • Provide estimating of task/change order pricing assistance to production control.
    • Provide estimating of proposals and RFQÕs for largely low voltage electrical/control systems with small portions consisting of foundation and structural modifications.
    • Develop subcontracting RFQÕs for surge requirements and needed outsourcing.
    • Gather metrics for job performance & estimating validation.
    • Support Contracts in scoping of costs with Prime and Subcontractors.
    • Assist with Proposal Data and cost estimates.

    Experience & Skills

    • 2 years marine industrial and shipyard experience preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
    • Ability to read electrical and mechanical prints.
    • CAD training a plus.
    • High School diploma or equivalent (Continuing education a plus)
    • Data base knowledge a plus.
    • Knowledge of FAR, GTRS, Navy standard items a plus.
    • U.S. Citizenship required * Note - SCI performs mandatory drug testing prior to hire.
